Just a few minutes ago, Justin and I met with the cardiac surgeon. (daughter Maryann joining by phone)
The doctor’s first words were, “It went great!“
James is still in the OR as they are doing what they call “closing him up“.
Next, he’ll be moved to his ICU room, and a new team will need about an hour to go through their procedures to have him ‘set up.’
At some point after a few hours, they will try to remove the breathing tube, and he’ll begin the process of gradually waking up.
I’m now back across the street at the hotel and will try and get some sleep, and go over first thing in the morning to see how he’s doing.
But for now everybody needs some sleep.
Thanks so much everybody for walking along beside us!
With love and gratitude,
Joan-Dianne❤️❤️
